“Mr. Eddy, I have been wanting to send this email for some time. Six years ago I came upon your book ‘The Five Types of People who Could Ruin Your Life’ and read it. I can honestly tell you that it changed my life. For almost twenty years I had been in a cohabitational relationship with a man and things were getting worse, instead of better. Your book taught me that what I had seen again and again in my ex, was not just mental illness or depression. It was some sort of a personality disorder and no amount of therapy (which he went to for years) or time would ever fix it. Within months I sought and found an excellent lawyer, I separated from him. I cannot say what exact disorder he has (possibly covert or vulnerable narcissism) but it definitely was toxic with zero empathy. His behaviour affected his work relationships such that he lost his job, and his friendships were very few if any. All I know is that I am happy to be free of his anger and negativity. And so I would like to say thank you for your book. I recommend it often to other people.”
